Cermin

Di kala malam menyeru mimpi

Belum lena hatiku ini

Ku tatap wajahku di balik Cermin

Hanya dikau; hilang yang lain

Khayalan kah ini, Bayangan kah ini?

Kerna suaramu memerdu sepi

Walau zahir mu, ku kenal tidak

Namun batin mu ku cinta jua

Kasih jangan kau tinggal daku

Jangan, Kasih; kau pergi jauh

Diam di sini bersama daku

Cinta kita, hanya Dia yang tahu.

Biar ombak bergelora,

Biar Angin SangkaKala,

Cinta kita semadi di sini

Cinta kita semadi di hati

Usah sedih, Sayang, usah ragu

Usah tangis, Sayang, Kau ada daku

Ku diam di sini, bersama kamu

Cinta kita, hanya Dia yang tahu.

KOYANNISQUATSI!

Koyannisquatsi, in Hopi(i’m not familiar with that language, I think it’s ancient)means a crazy life, life out of balance, or a call for a change in way of living. I watched this movie for one of my classes. It’s a one hour film of pure montage(no actual scenes with dialogue or plot). With Phillip Glass’s music (this movie is also dubbed City Symphony)and Godfrey Reggio’s mind-blowing cinematography, the movie was bedazzling both visually and musically. But what really got me is the story. There was so much meaning in the montages, the message was practically screaming at you. It depicts how when Man came about, they decided,"Hmm…God sucks at His job. He doesn’t know what’s best. Hey, He kicked us out of Heaven, kan? So let’s blow this world up so we can have SHOPPING MALLS!!" I SOBBED watching this movie. Yes, I know I’m a sap, but this was serious shit. I walked out feeling like my whole life is a joke. The movie asked me "Apa yang kau sanjung sangat tu?".If you ever get a chance to- watch it. Earlier, Mr. Graham Smith(Director, Actor and Playwright from New York)came in to speak in our class. And he shared with us how when he was performing in Bali, an architect couple asked him "Don’t you think, I mean, you have to admit, that Art is dying". That, art is losing it’s purpose and truth. Art has become Artificial.Later, talking to a Balinese mask carver, Graham told him of this architect’s opinion. The mask carver said "That can’t be true. Because art is my life-it’s my culture,my belief,it’s in my blood and it’s my way of earning a living. If Art is dying, then I am dying". "So," says Graham, "ask yourself, Am I dying?" And this doesn’t just go for art. Ask yourself, when it comes to your beliefs, your hopes and dreams, Are you Dying?

I’m not sure if I am, because I found my drug.
